Aframax tanker IBLEA sold.

15. June 2022

The SAG Aframax tanker IBLEA, delivered by Namura Shipyard in 2003, has been sold and recently handed over to its new owners. For 19 years, this solid Japanese-built vessel was in service for the Salamon Group and has sailed through ups and downs during this long period. In 2020, the ship was still able to achieve record rates of return. Nevertheless, the return targets remained unfulfilled and the engagement will only end with a rather modest profit. Due to the value increases in the tanker sector since the outbreak of the Ukraine war, it was fortunately possible to achieve a sales price that was significantly above expectations.
The vessel was handed over on 31 May 2022 in the port of San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic. At 14:14 Greek time, SAG Capt. Matiushyn Bogdan (left) handed over command to his successor Capt. Jhon Peter Basas.
