Container ship SAG GOOD TIMING sold

18. June 2022

The 1,118 TEU container ship SAG GOOD TIMING, sold in February 2022, was handed over to the buyers.
The “Good Timing”, as she was known internally, was delivered from the Taizhou Kouan shipyard in China in spring 2009, shortly after the Lehman insolvency. She thus entered a crisis-ridden future in which container rates fell to historic lows. The ship was taken over by a Salamon company in spring 2016 and given a solid equity base to sail through the shipping crisis. In fact, it struggled with profitability problems in the early years. Since the takeover, it has sailed continuously for Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), Geneva. The extremely positive development in the container sector could now be used for a very successful exit.
The ship was handed over to the buyer, Hapag Lloyd, in the port of Dunkirk on 3 June 2022. After the handover of the ship and repainting of the funnel, the crew sent the last photo with the ship as a farewell.
