Extensive experience in shipping, investment, financing and restructuring
Christian Salamon is the founder and namesake of Salamon AG. After working for industrial companies in Germany and the United States and for a Swiss management consultancy, he joined a Dortmund-based issuing house for real estate funds and ship investments in 1993. He founded Salamon AG in 2002. Christian (born in 1957) has been involved in the design and placement of over 70 real estate funds and ship investments with a total investment volume of over €2.9 billion. Christian is the CEO and, in this capacity, is responsible for the strategic direction of the group, project development and management of the various single-ship companies. He studied economics at the University of Essen and graduated with a degree in business administration. He is married and has three sons.
Hans Akkermann has been associated with the Salamon Group since its foundation as a consultant, member of numerous boards of directors and later also as a shareholder. In 2020, he was appointed to the Executive Board. As Chief Operating Officer (COO), he is responsible for chartering and operations. Hans (born in 1947) learned shipping from the ground up and has spent his entire professional life in the shipping industry. With over 50 years of experience in the maritime sector, he brings a wealth of extraordinary expertise to the table. From 1973 to 2012, he worked for the renowned Frachtcontor Junge in Hamburg, focusing on tankers, OBO and purchasing and sales. From 1996 to 2012, he was a member of the management board of Frachtcontor Junge & Co., serving as chairman of the management board for 12 years until his departure.
