The two oldest vessels in the SAG fleet, the Suezmax tankers ASTRA (149,995 dwt, built 2/2002 and VOYAGER (149,991 dwt, built 1/2002) were sold in December shortly before their 20th anniversary. The handover in the port of Suez took place for both vessels on 4.1.2022. SAG had decided to sell the two units as the tanker market continues to be under strong pressure and the use of tankers with an age of more than 20 years is only possible in narrow niche markets. As recently as 2020, the two vessels had been collecting record rates and making payouts of 20 % each to their owners. Shortly before handing over the ships at 11:00 local time, the crew sent the last photo from the bridge as a farewell.
